It is destroyed in private by a method which doesn't compromise on the dignity and honour of the Flag like burying it deep with respect or by immersing it into the Ganga duly folded.
In the event of death of certain dignitaries recognized by centre/state governments, the national flag shall be at half-mast at certain places & for specified days.
